The visit
The mould you can see is the easy part. Whether the wall is dry decides if it gets sealed that day.
01
Sound paint and a hard sheet can be washed. Soft gyprock, blistered paint, or a stain coming from the roof or the shower is a leak. We say so. We do not seal it and we do not replace the sheet.
02
A HEPA vacuum first, then an enzyme wash on the ceilings and the walls that are marked, and on the tops of the fans. The vacuum is for the dry dust. The wash is for what is stuck to the paint.
03
A dry wall can be sealed. A damp wall cannot. Sealing it traps the water in the paint and the timber. The room is left washed, with the air conditioner on dry or a dryer running, until the wall is ready.
04
The sealer is wiped on with a clean mop, not fogged through the room. It does not bleach the wall and it does not hide a leak.
